It’s no secret that we here at Fashionese Daily are big fans of Minimal. Every season they wow us with options for both formal and everyday wear, but what we really love is how they come at sensible prices that don’t break the bank. I think it’s safe to say that Minimal is a front runner in the battle for local fashionistas’ hearts, weaning us from pricier ready-to-wear competitors from the UK and US. So we were really pleased when we received an invitation to their very fabulous Fall ’13 Private Preview, and we were not disappointed.
Minimal’s Creative Director was on hand to point out some of the motifs we will see in the new collection include Thai silk and embellished collars! The purpose of embellished collars was to let the wearer get ready for a day out without having to think about accessorizing, while all the separates and dresses made of Thai silk gave the outfit an expensive and exclusive feel. To add to the notion of aristocracy, the shift dresses come in colors like royal blue and purple.
But my personal favorite items would have to be these gorgeous sweaters. The Female Daily office has been chilly following Jakarta’s recent spate of heavy rain, leaving most of us reaching for shawls, blazers, and jackets. I don’t wear sweaters and certainly don’t consider myself a fan of them, but these are a far cry from everything I consider sweaters to be: sloppy, lazy, unsophisticated. I’m a believer now!
